Traveler
(Millenium Museum, Beijing China. July/2006)
Traveler started out as a collaboration between Students from Parsons School
of Design and Students at Beijing's Tsinghua University.
We built an interactive video installation that involved two stationary bikes.
Depending on which bike was peddled faster a video display would switch from
a bike ride through NYC to a bike ride in Beijing, music reflecting each city
would also play. When the bikes are not peddled the display shows a cubed combo
of both.
The front tire of the bikes were rigged to pneumatics, so that when someone
was riding the bike the front tire would bounce up and down as if riding down
a city street.
